The festival of colors Holi was celebrated with gusto in the holy city of Varanasi on Wednesday. Not only locals, but a number of foreigners also joined the local groups and enjoyed the festival at different places and ghats.
With the burning of Holika on Tuesday evening, people of all age groups were seen enjoying the festival. The city had already switched over to the Holi mood with the celebrations of Rangbhari Ekadashi four days before the festival.
Besides splashing colors and rubbing Gulal on one another, the city also witnessed Holi Baraat that crossed through several localities.
A series of colorful programmes marked the week long celebration of Holi festival in the city. The city would also witness the traditional Budhwa Mangal on first Tuesday after Holi, marking the completion of a week-long celebrations of the festival of color in the city.
